WBNA General Meeting: Tues., Oct. 6th, 2009 @ 7 PM

Come with your neighbors to the WBNA, 1560 Westminster to:

• Take part in an informal discussion on how we, as neighbors, can work with the Parks Department to improve the playground, dog park, baseball field, and other park features
• Talk with neighbors about how to best keep our "eyes on the park" for safety and maintenance issues
• Learn how to join our new Friends of Dexter Training Ground google group to discuss park issues as a community
• The playground at Dexter Training Ground is one of the busiest in the city; take a look around and you'll notice that in the past couple of years our neighborhood has increased its population of "little ones." At this meeting we'll also take a few minutes to discuss the current public school options for our neighborhood children and talk about how to advocate for a local public school in our neighborhood that children and parents can walk to. We encourage parents to attend the School Department's Community Meeting listed below.

• Providence School Dept. Community Meeting, Sat. 10/17, 11:00am-12:30pm, Central High School Gymatorium, 70 Fricker St.:  Demonstrate that we have the necessary number of students to reopen West Broadway Elementary School.  Parents, children and neighbors who care about the health of our neighborhood PLEASE come out in force.  Please spread the word  to each and every neighbor.  Help bring back our neighborhood school!
• Ghouls & Goblins Parade:  Sat., 10/31, 1-4pm, Dexter Training Ground. Includes trebuchet pumpkin launcher, pet contest, beer garden, bake sale, and more.
• Halloween Map-If you are handing out candy, please call or email  WBNA to get on the Safe Halloween Map!
