------ The Providence Children's Film Festival , February 12-15th, 2010 The Providence Children's Film Festival presents a delightful collection of animated, live-action, and documentary films for children, youth and families on February 12-15th, 2010 at the Cable Car Cinema and the Metcalf Auditorium, RISD Museum. This 4 day festival of high quality and independent children's films will include the New England premiere of the Oscar nominated animated feature The Secret of Kells, a film where magic, fantasty and Celtic mysthology come together in a riot of color and detail that dazzles the eyes with a sweeping story about the power of imagination and faith to carry humanity fhrough dark times.

This all-day event will feature:
Free ice skating (with a donation to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank) Face painting A visit from the New England 2010 Census van Performances by the Mexican Ballet Gualupano, Hispanic United Development Organization Dance Academy, Community Music Works, Jump!, Classical High School Choir and the Providence Academy of International studies.

--- Swim in the open air in OUR own neighborhood! At the Zuccolo Recreation Center Neighbor Anne Tait organizes summer swimming at the Federal Hill Zuccolo Recreation Center. The present schedule is from the opening of the pool in mid-late June to mid-late August. It usually is at least 6 weeks of swimming, on M, W, F from 7:30-9:30. There is a nominal fee to cover the cost of the lifeguard that is required to be hired during this time.
