Introducing Neighborhood Nights, an all-in-one community meeting where neighbors come together to explore a planned topic or issue, check out a WBNA committee, and/or play basketball at open gym! This new monthly gathering is an easy way to get to know WBNA and your neighbors with free food, childcare, and Spanish translation.

Begun as a way to counter low spirits during a bad economy, West Side Caroling has become a west side tradition for young and old, families and singles, hipsters and squares.
We explore the possibilities of a transformational approach to the rebuilding of the Route 6-10 Connector that could improve quality of life in west side neighborhoods as well as the vibrancy and economic health of the city as a whole. But this vision seems unlikely to happen without an intentional planning process in place that includes community and city stakeholders at the table.
This year's Conversation With Elected Officials was a resounding success. Legislators shared the work that is being done locally in our neighborhood, and on a broader City and State wide level. Neighbors had the opportunity ask questions and hear directly from our elected officials. Thanks to all who participated!
Our March meeting focused on a spring tree planting of 13 trees between Messer Street and Service Road, updates on a collaboration-in-the-works between WBNA and The Compost Plant, WBNA's West Side Solar Program, and other initiatives.
On Thursday, November 12 two West Side homes were destroyed during a fire. Fortunately, according to the Providence Journal, all 25 residents were able to escape. Unfortunately, most of their belongings were lost. West Side neighbor, Lauren Sanford, is organizing a clothing drive to help the families through this difficult time.
Lauren is in the process of gathering information about what is needed and how best to help the families. We will be updating this post with more details as arrangements are made. In the meantime, we know that the following items are needed.

They may also need cold weather clothing, toiletries and undergarments.
