Neighborhood Tree Planting

  • Planting Demo at 12:30pm starts here: 20 Harrison Street Providence, RI 02909

Join neighbor-organizers Ken DeBlois and Tod Damon and the Providence Neighborhood Planting Program in planting 28 TREES over a wide area stretching from Tobey to Knight Street.

This family friendly event starts at 12:30pm with a planting demonstration at 20 Harrison Street. Volunteers then break into groups to plant 28 new trees on the west side.

Never planted a tree before? No experience necessary – you'll get lots of help and support along the way while having fun and greening the neighborhood!

Please dress for dirt. Wear boots or sturdy footwear and gloves – no open-toed shoes or bare hands. And, if you have them, bring these tools: shovel, pruning shears, sharp knife or scissors, small saw, and broom (and be sure to label them).

Please RSVP and direct any questions to Ken DeBlois (Tobey Street) or Tod Damon (Knight Street), our tree planting neighbor-coordinators. Thank you Ken and Tod for organizing this spring's planting!
