After 14 years of persistent advocacy with neighbors and partners, West Broadway Neighborhood Association is thrilled to hold a simple but heartfelt ribbon cutting and ceremonial turning-on of the fountain to celebrate Luongo Square's new public space.
Mayor Jorge Elorza will be in attendance with key project personnel from RI Department of Transportation and Providence Department of Public Works, as well as steady project supporters Senator Paul Jabour, Representative John Lombardi and Councilman Bryan Principe. We look forward to acknowledging the many who made this project happen including our neighbor-volunteers in the Luongo Square Working Group and our city and state collaborators.
After a brief speaking program, we will turn on the Decatur Fountain for its first season and enjoy refreshments in this new neighborhood gathering place. All are welcome.
