Coat Drive for Buy Nothing Day Coat Exchange

As part of our Live Local, Give Local neighborhood giving campaign, WBNA is organizing a coat drive for the Buy Nothing Day Coat Exchange, an effort that has brought coats and warm things to children and families for 22 years.

The day after Thanksgiving every year, racks of coats appear on the State House lawn thanks to the initiative of BND Coat Exchange organizers, the generosity of people like you and the effort of countless agencies and individuals who organize collections to help those who need warm winter gear in our communities.

From now through Tuesday, November 20, please drop off new and gently used coats, gloves, hats, and scarves for children and adults to WBNA anytime between 8:30am and 5pm, Monday through Thursday. The West Side has a generous spirit – let's collect a huge amount of warm winter things for our neighbors who need them.

In new or gently used condition, for children and adults:

  • Coats

  • Gloves, hats and scarves

  • Sweaters and sweatshirts are also needed, but PLEASE no other clothing items (NO pants, NO shoes, NO shirts)

  • GREATLY NEEDED are children's coats and gloves, and coats in size 2x and larger

LIVE LOCAL, GIVE LOCAL, and thank you for your kindness!
