Maker Lab at West Side Play Space

Maker lab NOW OPEN!

West Side Play Space, a program of the WBNA, has just opened its new Maker Lab, where kids 4+ can invent, create, and let their imaginations run wild. It is stocked with extensive crafting materials and recyclables of all shapes and sizes.

Winter/Spring Workshops (2015-16) for kids ages 5-8:

  • Saturday, March 12, 10:30-11:30am (project: making "Robot Vests")
  • Saturday, March 19, 10:30-11:30am (project: TBA)
  • Saturday, April 2, 10:30-11:30am (project: A-Maze-ing Construction)
  • Saturday April 9, 10:30-11:30am (project: TBA) 

Workshops for the 2016-17 Season are TBD

Please RSVP Siobhan if you plan on attending any the above workshops or if you would like to help be a Workshop Leader.

Maker Lab is open during WSPS regular hours, and is free for WSPS members. Drop-in visitors can use the Maker Lab by paying the regular drop-in fee of $10/Providence residents & $12/all others. For drop-in visitors wishing to use only the Maker Lab, the fee is $5/child. For more information on West Side Play Space's membership and fees, go here.

These workshops are led by adult Rhode Island College students working toward degrees in Elementary Education who chose WSPS as the focus of their work through the course, "Building Family, School and Community Partnerships."
