Neighborhood Nights

WBNA’s Neighborhood Nights is a community gathering where neighbors come together to explore planned topics and issues of neighborhood and city interest, get to know WBNA and its initiatives, and/or play basketball at open gym! Neighborhood Nights are free and open to everyone.

This family-friendly event series happens on or close to the first Tuesday of the month in March, May, July, September, October, and December, from 6 to 8pm, and offers free food, childcare, and Spanish interpretation. New, accessible location for 2020 is Asa Messer Elementary School at 1655 Westminster Street!

Neighborhood Nights Schedule

6 - 7pm  | WBNA General Meeting featuring our annual “Conversations” series
7 - 8pm  | Second “flex” hour: Presentations and discussions on topic(s) of community interest

From 6 to 7pm there will be a general meeting for all neighbors featuring WBNA’s annual “Conversations” series that includes Conversation with Elected Officials in March, as well as presentations in other months focused on parks, neighborhood affordability, the Cranston Street Armory, and neighborhood public schools, for example.

During our second hour (7-8pm), we will host more flexible programming around a topic of interest that neighbors have requested or that has emerged as a concern for neighbors. This time can also be programmed for continued neighbor discussion on the first hour’s presentation. This hour may also include a neighborhood development project review hosted by WBNA’s Community Development Committee.

This meeting format is a return to our roots. Years ago, WBNA held General Meetings every month with neighbors with the aim for more interactivity, connection, transparency, energy and fun.
